Christian Education ![]() Our hearts yearn to know and be in relationship with God; we are created for that purpose. In worship, our hearts and minds are opened to receive all the gifts that bring us into that relationship. Through study of God's Word, the Holy Bible, we come to know God as He reveals Himself to us through the inspiration of the prophets and the disciples of His Son, Jesus Christ.
We offer Bible Study for all ages.
Sunday School, Sundays at 9:45 am beginning in Church Our Sunday School program is geared for children in grades K through 6. We currently use the Spark curriculum produced by Augsburg Fortress Publishers, the publishing house of the ELCA. We begin in the Friendship Hall for a brief gathering session with Pastor Fred and then move to our classes for lessons.
Youth, Once a month at 9:45 am in the Youth Lounge Our Youth program is geared for students in grades 7 -12. Our Youth Forum is designed to engage our young people in discussions about topics of interest to teenagers and how God expects us to handle our response to the issues that they face.
Confirmation Classes, First Tuesday of each month in Friendship Hall, from 6-8 pm, led by Pastor Fred. Our Confirmation program is developed for 7th and 8th graders and is a two-year program of study of Luther's Small Catechism mixed in with a lot of fun and games. After completion of the two-year program, these youth provide a testimony of their faith to the congregation at the Affirmation of their Baptism, Confirmation Sunday.
Adult Bible Study, Sundays at 9:45 am in Friendship Hall Our Adult program provides a weekly discussion forum based on a continually varied list of topics. Sometimes the group discusses a specific book of the Bible, but many other topics have included movie reviews, book discussions, Lutheran theological position discussions, ELCA policy statements, or current events.
A Lenten Bible Study is often held on Wednesday or Thursday during the season of Lent, both at noon and 7:00 pm discussing either a novel that we have read in advance, a Book of the Bible, or Lutheran related literature to review. Check back here during Lent for specific details.
